A Beautiful Life
The first sensation I always notice is sound. The swelling of a violin, the breadth of a cello. If played in perfect harmony it can transform a room, a memory, a lifetime. You can create beauty from nothing.
What is a beautiful life?
Is it all the small snapshots of life that we string together on film reels? Is it it the ticking of right hand of the clock as we march forward linearly?
I think perhaps, it is the former. To create a purposeful life, is to live each moment with purpose. To create a meaningful life, is to fill it with meaning. To create a beautiful life, is to paint your life with broad strokes of vivid colours.
The older I get the more I think about how I want live, to be, to exist. How to cherish each memory with a love one, not knowing when it will all end. How odd that is. To one day exist, and then not.
To sit with your existence, and your inevitable death is sobering.
All to say, it has taught me to be present. To tread lightly. To give love freely, and to receive love graciously. We are all just a snapshot in a big production called "Life”.
If you want a beautiful life, create it.
