“always be kinder than you feel”

To Be Seen

What happens when light meets the dark?
It illuminates. It washes over everything in broad strokes.

What I mean to say is: sometimes, you will meet someone good.

Perhaps the two of you are like matches. Once struck, you ignite

But in some cases in love, your light may be so bright that they need time - to adjust, to acclimate, to trust that it is safe.

Sometimes, your light will reveal parts of them that have remained hidden, shrouded in shame, fear, or past experience.

Their initial reaction may feel harsh. You might wonder, Was my light too bright?
But this is not the case.

Let them sit with it. Let them feel into it. Let them learn to hold space for it.

They must learn to trust that the light is good -
and that what has been hidden need not be hidden anymore.
